Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 March 2025
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the kerbr platform ("Platform"), operated by kerbr ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. The service
kerbr is a marketplace that connects learner drivers ("Learners") with approved driving instructors ("Instructors"). We facilitate bookings, payments, and communication but do not directly provide driving lessons.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 16 years old to create a Learner account
- Instructors must hold a valid DVSA-approved driving instructor (ADI) badge or trainee licence
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Bookings and payments
For Learners
- Bookings are confirmed once payment is processed
- Prices are shown in GBP and include any applicable dynamic discounts
- Dynamic discounts are calculated based on instructor travel time savings and are applied automatically
- A platform fee of £1.50 is added per booking
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe
For Instructors
- You set your own base hourly rate
- Dynamic pricing may adjust the learner's price based on travel time efficiencies — this does not reduce your payout below the base rate minus the discount
- Payouts are processed weekly via Stripe Connect
- You are responsible for your own tax obligations
6. Cancellation policy
- 48+ hours before lesson — full refund
- 24–48 hours before lesson — 50% refund
- Less than 24 hours — no refund
- Instructor cancellation — always a full refund to the Learner
7. Instructor obligations
Instructors using kerbr agree to:
- Maintain a valid ADI badge or trainee licence at all times
- Provide lessons in a roadworthy, insured, dual-controlled vehicle
- Arrive on time at the agreed pickup location
- Conduct lessons professionally and safely
- Keep their availability calendar up to date
8. Learner obligations
Learners using kerbr agree to:
- Hold a valid provisional driving licence (or equivalent)
- Be ready at the agreed pickup location on time
- Follow the instructor's safety directions during lessons
- Not attend lessons under the influence of alcohol or drugs
9. Liability
kerbr acts as a platform connecting Learners and Instructors. We are not a party to the driving lesson itself. Instructors are independent professionals, not employees or agents of kerbr.
- We are not liable for the quality, safety, or outcome of any driving lesson
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from interactions between Learners and Instructors
- Our total liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim
10. Intellectual property
All content, branding, and technology on the Platform is owned by kerbr or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without our written permission.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. Outstanding bookings and payment obligations survive termination.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of kerbr after changes constitutes acceptance.
